Karl Mecklem
Winemaker & Viticulturist
Our winemaker and head viticulturist Karl Mecklem runs the viticulture and enology programs at Eagles Nest Reserve. Having grown up in a world of sustainable forestry and farming in the Coast Range and Willamette Valley, he developed a love for proper stewardship of the land that fueled his pursuit of ethical viticultural and winemaking practices. He is laser-focused on organic, sustainable vineyard practices and non-interventional, natural-fermentation wine production. While most days you’ll find him in the vineyard or winery, you’ll also find him hard at work in the Reserve’s fields and forests or rockin’ out to the Grateful Dead.

Raechel
Hospitality Manager & Cellar Hand
Raechel is a PNW native and world traveler. She spent four years managing events in Germany prior to joining our team. Aside from being our hospitality manager, she helps out in the vineyard, winery and with sales.
Zenaida
Alpacera & Vineyard Specialist
Zenaida is our alpacera and has been working with the family for 25 years. She has a remarkable work ethic and attention to detail in the vineyard.
Diana
Owner & Partner, Eagles Nest Reserve LLC
Diana and husband Greg built their home on Eagles Nest in the Coast Range in 1975 and farmed and forested there for more than 20 years. Diana also worked as a Family Counselor until son Karl was born in 1987. They started an alpaca herd there in 1993, and moved with son Karl to Helvetia in 1996. There the family continued and expanded their alpaca business and started the Parade of Champions Alpaca Auction. Diana has many years experience working with the alpacas and hosting the Parade of Champions Alpaca Auction as co-owner of Pacific Crest Alpacas. Her greatest love is gardening and growing beautiful flowers, and caring for her chickens and alpacas.
